House Democrats released two batches of photos on Dec. 12, with Garcia promising more to come to light.
As House Democrats continue to release images collected from the estate of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, a congressman has confirmed that some of the images depict people engaging in sexual activity.
After Democrats on the House Oversight Committee shared a selection of photos from Epstein’s estate — a total of more than 95,000 photos reportedly collected — on Friday, Dec. 12, Rep. Suhas Subramaniam of Virginia confirmed to CNN. Arena with Cassie Hunt Some unpublished photos depict “several people” engaging in sexual activity.
When asked if the photos collected with the committee contained images of “people engaged in sexual activity,” the Democratic congressman told Hunt that “as part of this release, yes, there are pictures of people engaging in sexual activity.”
A CNN political correspondent asked if other men besides Epstein had been shown to be involved in these actions, to which Subramaniam replied: “We’re going through that.” The congressman said lawmakers are “still not really sure who it is,” but added, “Certainly, a lot of people are involved in some of these actions.”
The first batch of 19 images show more than 10 famous men – including Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Steve Bannon and the former Prince Andrew – in various settings over the years. On the same day as the initial release, House Democrats released 70 additional images, depicting different angles of previously released photos from Epstein’s private island, per CNN.
According to CNN, none of the images released so far contain any sexual abuse or depict individuals as minors.

Hunt also asked Subramaniam what “disturbed”—as it is widely used in the context of discussing the Epstein photos—means. “I mean, we’re talking about potential, minors and certainly even victims, engaging in sexual acts in a very suggestive, compromising position,” the Virginia Democrat said. “To leave it at that.”

Congress also offered comments on some of the figures depicted in the recently released images. Asked if the Clinton family had been warned before the release, Subramaniam said: “We’re not trying to frame anybody, Democrat or Republican. We’re looking for evidence, and we’re putting it out there.”
“Some of the people we’re really consulting, when it comes to whether or not it’s appropriate to put something out, are the victims,” Subramaniam added. (The House Oversight Committee covered the faces of many of the women in the recently shared photos for privacy reasons.)
“If the Clintons have information, we want to hear it. We welcome them to testify before the committee, to clear their names,” he said, adding that Gates, the former Prince Andrew and anyone else featured in the photos are the same.
Subramaniam added: “We want to hear from them all about what they know about Jeffrey Epstein’s crimes.”

California Rep. Robert Garcia, the top Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, also addressed the alleged “real” photos collected from Epstein’s estate in an interview Friday.
Appearing on CNN Source with Kaitlan Collins On December 12, Garcia told the host and White House correspondent that some of the photos they had obtained from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate were “very disturbing.”
He also told Collins that there were “many, many photographs of women” among them. In particular, he said, “some are very disturbed about the women and their situation,” per Garcia, who added that lawmakers hope to release the photos in the coming “days and weeks.”
House Democrats have vowed to release more photos as they continue to sift through the thousands of files they have received.
