CNN, the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, and other outlets have also now confirmed that the man in the video with the Pretty family is Alex Pretty.

“During the scuffle, agents fired tear gas and pepper spray into the crowd,” the narrator continued. “They continued to hold the man before they retreated and he walked away.”
The narrator said the footage showed a gun “visible above his waistband”.
The footage soon went viral on X after it was posted on Wednesday. Republican communications consultant Steve Guest posted the clip and it drew 1.4 million views in its first two hours. He incorrectly said it was a “bombshell report from the BBC” – a mistake made by many other users.
“Important context: Pretty was not a peaceful protester,” the guest added.
Greg Price – which lists a “rapid response manager” for the president of Donald Trump White House as his work on LinkedIn – also shared clips.
“Alex Pretty spits on a federal agent and then shoots out his taillight in footage released by the BBC 11 days before his death,” he posted.
Megyn Kelly shared the clip and said it left Pretty “itching for another encounter with the Border Patrol, whom he was stalking, harassing and terrorizing.”
He continued, “He was persecuting them. His crimes are on tape. He was reckless, and it cost him his life. Find another post boy, illegal-loving leftist.”
“Wow,” Team Pool He said in the caption of the video. He wondered if Pretty “would have found out when the agents tried to arrest him?”
