A former “American Idol” contestant turned devout Christian is accused of murdering his sleeping wife in their Ohio home. Police picked up the former reality TV star Thursday from the Tipp City PD in Ohio, the site reported. He was then taken to the county jail on charges of murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence, according to official records seen by the site.
Caleb Flynn shot and killed Ashley Flynn at her home in Tipp County on Feb. 16, prosecutors said. Flynn, who competed on “American Idol” in 2013, was booked into the Miami County Jail Thursday evening, WHIO reported.

Ashley’s death was previously described as a break-in at the family’s home while she and her husband were inside. The former “American Idol” contestant has been charged with murder, felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
“The Tipp City Police Department appreciates the community’s patience and support while this collaborative investigative team worked diligently on this complex case. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the many agencies that have assisted, and continue to assist in this investigation, involving this tragic loss of life,” Adkins said.
Authorities found probable cause to charge Caleb with murder. However, due to the ongoing investigation, specific investigation details have not been made public.

As NewsCenter 7 previously reported, Ashley was killed early Monday morning at her home on Cunningham Court. Investigators told NewsCenter 7 that Ashley, her husband and their children were the only ones inside the home when someone allegedly broke in and shot her. John Linning talked about his relationship with his neighbors across the street, the Flynn family, describing them as the youngest family in the cul-de-sac.
“We were shaking the neighbors. They cut the grass, and we were working here, and we would shake each other, that was about it,” Leining said, adding that he was surprised to hear of Caleb’s arrest. “It’s been very frustrating. You think you know your neighbors,” he said.
911 dispatch logs reveal the initial emergency call

News Center 7 obtained the dispatch logs when Tipp City Police first learned of the incident at Cunningham Court. The call refers to the “RP,” which means the reporting party or person who called 911. “Someone entered RP’s home, and it is unknown if they are still there. The garage door is open,” the dispatcher said.
The dispatcher said a woman had reportedly been shot and was unresponsive. The 911 caller told dispatchers there were children in the home.
On Wednesday, the Miami County Prosecutor responded to NewsCenter 7’s request for the 911 calls and said they are not being released at this time because they are part of investigative records, which are legal under Ohio law. The prosecutor’s office said NewsCenter 7 will receive that call, but it’s not clear when.
Caleb is being held in the Miami County Jail.
