Former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga.) said during a recent podcast appearance that President Trump’s response was “brutal” when he sent a message about receiving death threats against her and her family after she resigned from Congress.
Green told the “Piers Morgan Uncensored” host on Wednesday that she contacted FBI Director Kash Patel and other senior Trump administration officials after one of her children was allegedly “raised” by threats.
“And I was very concerned about the death threats against my children because of him,” she said in the episode, claiming some of those warnings echoed Trump’s own words, labeling him a “traitor.”
“I am not a traitor to my country. Standing up for rape victims does not make me a traitor,” Green added, referring to his support for victims of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and pressure on the Justice Department to release files related to the case.
The former lawmaker said she alerted the president to the threat but he “showed no mercy.” According to Green, that was the last time the two spoke.
“What did he tell you?” Morgan pressed on.
“He had no mercy for the death threats against my children. He basically blamed me saying that if my son was killed, it would be my fault,” the Georgia Republican responded, which shocked Morgan.
Green said the exchange felt like a “nail in the coffin” when it came to Trump’s influence on him.
“Some of my biggest political enemies would never say that to me,” she argued. “Democrats in Congress who might disagree with me didn’t say that to me. Nobody said those words to me.”
“I don’t know what kind of person would have any compassion or care for threatening to kill someone’s child. It’s just, it’s unimaginable,” Green added.
In a statement to The Hill, the White House said Green is “trying pathetically to stay relevant by going on liberal media shows to denounce President Trump.”
“Unfortunately, Trump Derangement Syndrome has rotted former Congresswoman Greene’s peanut-sized mind,” said spokesman Davis Ing.
Green’s once-close relationship with the president began to sour in late 2025, as he criticized his handling of the Epstein files and his approach to domestic issues such as affordability and health care.
Their public spat exploded in November, when Trump withdrew his endorsement and called Green an “angry lunatic,” among other insults. He then decided to resign from the House soon.
Since then, the former MAGA ally has been an outspoken opponent of US military action in Iran and Trump’s rhetoric surrounding the conflict, arguing that the decision to launch a joint strike against Tehran was a “betrayal” of his 2024 campaign promises.
She demanded that Trump be removed from office via the 25th Amendment after he threatened to escalate the conflict by attacking civilian infrastructure if Tehran did not come to the negotiating table.
Greene told Morgan on the podcast that she thought impeachment would be “highly unlikely,” arguing that Republicans “serve Donald Trump like he’s some kind of cult leader.”
“I don’t know how anyone can go against the president when he says things like wipe out an entire civilization, especially in the administration or any Republican serving in the House or Senate who calls himself a Christian,” she said.
“They have to make that call. And there’s every one in the administration and in Congress that doesn’t want to be willing to challenge the president when he says things like that, and we need to examine what his mental state is,” Green added.
