All Dolled Up: Barbie and Friends Exhibit Opens at Parkersburg Art Center |  News, Sports, Jobs

PARKERSBURG – The Parkersburg Art Center is partnering with the Marietta Children’s Toy and Doll Museum for a new exhibit.

The team from the Marietta museum has created a Pop-up exhibit in the Reception Gallery at the PAC and welcomes visitors to immerse themselves in the fascinating world of Barbie and her friends.

The public is invited to attend a reception for the Barbie and Friends Exhibit at the PAC on Friday, April 5 from 5 p.m., when representatives from the museum will be on hand to explain some of the exhibits and answer questions .

Eager visitors don’t have to wait until then, as the exhibit opened to the public on March 26 and will remain on display in the Reception Gallery until April 27 during regular hours, Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to at 17:00. There is free entry thanks to sponsorship. of WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center.

“We invite you to walk down memory lane with Barbie and enjoy the holidays with her. We also have examples of unique toys over the decades. said Kim Reese, representative of the Toy and Doll Museum, reflecting the sense of excitement surrounding the exhibit.

The exhibition not only showcases Barbie and her iconic companions, but also provides a glimpse into the evolution of toys over the years.

“See what the Children’s Museum of Toys and Dolls has to offer,” Reese said.

The collaboration between the museum and the Parkersburg Art Center was celebrated by Jessie Siefert, managing director at PAC.

“We are so happy to have gotten to know the crew that volunteers at this unique Marietta museum, and we love that a collaborative exhibit came out of that meeting.”

All of the dolls and toys featured are part of the extensive collection housed in the Children’s Toy and Doll Museum located at 206 Gilman Ave. in Marietta. The museum offers a glimpse into the past of what entertained and educated children in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It will be open May through October on Saturdays and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults, $2 for children and $10 for immediate family members.
