A newly released search warrant in the case against Tyler Robinson, a Utah man accused of killing conservative icon Charlie Kirk in September, revealed more details about how investigators collected DNA and cellphone data after placing him at the scene of the alleged shooting.
Investigators obtained DNA from cellphone data showing Robinson’s location on September 10, 2025, along with “fingerprints and a smeared palm print near the edge of the roof at the northeast corner of the Losey Center building where Robinson fell from the roof to the floor. According to East Idaho News.
Additionally, a Google Maps route found on Robinson’s phone was allegedly routed to an area near the Utah Valley University campus, the outlet reported.

The warrant also includes a note Robinson allegedly left for his roommate, with whom he was romantically involved, shortly before the alleged murder. Robinson referred to his partner, Lance Twiggs, as “Luna.”
“Luna, if you’re reading this as my text, I’m so sorry,” the note said. “I left home on a mission this morning, and an auto-text set.

The warrant also revealed the authorities’ alleged timeline of events immediately after and after Kirk’s murder.

According to court documents previously obtained by Fox News Digital, Robinson arrived in Orem in a gray Dodge Challenger at 8:29 a.m. the morning of the alleged shooting. He was captured on surveillance video entering the UVU campus through a tunnel under Campus Drive between 11:50 a.m. and 11:53 a.m. and checking his cellphone.
He was seen on camera on the north side of UVU’s Losee Center building walking with “a distinctive gait,” a rifle hidden in his jeans, allegedly at 12:02 p.m.

About 13 minutes later, authorities said Robinson was seen wearing dark clothing and climbing a staircase leading to the side of the Losey Center before scaling a wall and leaning against the roof, charging documents previously said. He then waited several minutes before “running to the roof” and rolling into a “prone shooting position” with a direct line of sight to where Kirk was speaking.
At 12:23 p.m., the father of two was shot in the neck after Kirk raised a question at a campus event. Surveillance footage captured Robinson allegedly fleeing through the roof, in what appeared to be an altercation, according to the documents.

Robinson is charged with aggravated murder, among other counts, in Kirk’s shooting while Kirk was speaking at a Turning Point USA event on UVU’s campus last year.
Robinson has pleaded not guilty to all charges, and prosecutors have vowed to seek the death penalty in the case.
