Even MAGA can’t stomach Trump’s Vile Rob Reiner post

WASHINGTON – Several Republicans in the House of Representatives criticized President Donald Trump on Monday for his scathing social media posts about the murders of director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Reiner.

Representative. Marjorie Taylor Green (R-Ga.) and Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) — right-wingers who have recently been on the president’s bad side — expressed disgust at Trump, saying the two were killed because of Reiner’s “Trump derangement syndrome.”

Politics: Marked by high values, many Trump voters say: Don’t blame the president

“Regardless of how you feel about Rob Reiner, this is an inappropriate and disrespectful discourse about a man who was just brutally murdered,” Massey wrote on X, above an image of the president’s post.

“I think my elected GOP colleagues, the VP, and the White House staff will ignore it because they’re afraid? I defy anyone to defend it,” Massey said.

Rep. Mike Lawler (RN.Y.), a moderate, also excited.

“This statement is false. Regardless of one’s political views, no one should be the victim of violence, let alone at the hands of their own son,” Lawler wrote. “This is a terrible tragedy that should evoke sympathy and compassion from everyone in our country, period.”

Trump wrote on Monday that the couple “is reported to be suffering from a mind-crippling illness known as Trump Derangement Syndrome because of the rage he causes others because of his immense, unrelenting and incurable suffering.”

Reiner, director of films including “The Princess Bride” and “Harry Met Sally,” has been critical of Trump, once calling him “the most unfit person to ever assume the presidency of the United States.”

Reiners was found stabbed to death in his home on Sunday. Police have arrested their 32-year-old son but have not made the charges public. The younger Rainer has struggled with addiction and homelessness.

Green condemned Trump’s message within minutes of Macy’s.

“This is a family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies,” Greene wrote. “Many families deal with a family member with drug addiction and mental health issues. It’s incredibly difficult and must be met with empathy, especially when it ends in homicide.”

Green was one of Trump’s biggest supporters in Congress this year in his support of Massey’s Law to force the release of files on Trump friend Jeffrey Epstein, the late ****** stalker Jeffrey Epstein.

Politics: Critics ‘frightened’ by Trump’s 3 words about Brown University shooting

Although they have clashed with Trump, the posts by Massey, Green and Lawler were notable — for a decade, most elected Republicans have avoided commenting on Trump’s abusive social media activity. Lawmakers typically tell reporters they haven’t had a chance to see what the president has to say.

Earlier this year, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) laughed off a question that Trump was a great poster, after the president posted a video of him piloting a jet plane throwing excrement at “No Kings” protesters.

“The president uses social media to make a point. You could argue that he’s probably the most effective person who’s ever used social media to make a point,” Johnson said.

Johnson’s spontaneous public criticism from conventioneers on Monday is another small sign that Trump’s grip on his party is eroding.

Politics: Marjorie Taylor Green says she’s sorry for Trump

Jenna Ellis, a member of Trump’s 2020 campaign legal team, also condemned his comments.

“The South equally condemned the political and celebratory response to Charlie Kirk’s death,” Ellis wrote in X. “This is a terrible example of Trump (and surprising considering the two attempts on his own life) and should be condemned by all with any decency.”
