“The Cleaning Lady’s” hairstylist, Danielle Vigil, is clarifying statements she made about Timothy Busfield after he was arrested on child molestation charges.
Vigil said her previous comments, in which she said she saw Busfield kiss two children in a trailer on set on their foreheads, were “misconstrued” and stressed that she did not want to accuse anyone or speculate about the case.
In a statement Us weeklyVigil said she was contacted by detectives about the child’s investigation, which caused her “significant emotional distress” due to her personal history, as her daughter was tragically murdered several years ago.
Vigil said she initially felt “guarded and scared” that the investigation might involve her own children or grandchildren.
“During the call, I expressed displeasure as the conversation continued,” she wrote. “However, because of my life experience with my daughter’s unsolved murder, and because of my belief that silence and lack of cooperation can sometimes obstruct justice, I finally chose to answer the questions I personally observed.”
He emphasized that his intention was “not to infer, accuse or harm anyone, but to tell the truth about my own views as requested.”

Vigil noted that she did not know the call was being recorded, saying, “Had I known my words were being recorded or that the detective would use the conversation to fit his story, I would have chosen my language more carefully and made sure my statements were fully relevant.”
She added that she did not expect her comments to be used as part of official testimony against Busfield.
Expressing disappointment with how his statement was reported, Vigil said that part of his conversation was “selectively presented that does not reflect the full context” and misrepresented his intentions.

“This statement is not intended to interfere with any investigation,” she added of her comments being used in the Busfield case. “This is just to clarify my position, my intentions and my statements under the circumstances.”
The hairstylist then commented, “I have always believed in telling the truth and acting in good faith, especially when the safety of children is involved. I also believe that the truth should be handled responsibly and in full context.”

Busfield has denied the allegations, claiming he had no physical contact with the children. He spoke as he entered TMZClaiming, “I’m going to face these lies. They’re horrible. They’re all lies, and I didn’t do anything to those little guys. I’m going to fight this. I’m going to fight this big team, and I’m going to be innocent. I know it’s all wrong and all lies.”

Prosecutors called for Busfield to remain in custody pending his trial, describing him as a “constant and serious threat to children and the community.”
In a pretrial filing, the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office cited what it characterized as a pattern of “sexual misconduct, abuse of authority, and grooming behavior” to justify his continued detention.
In response, Busfield’s legal team argued in a 237-page court document that the boy’s mother, whose children were replaced during filming, was seeking revenge against the director.
They also noted that Busfield successfully completed an independently administered polygraph test and a professional psychological evaluation determined that he “does not appear to be sexually attracted to pre-teen or adolescent males or females.”
The defense also submitted numerous character reference letters to the court from friends and family members, including his wife, actress Melissa Gilbert, who had not previously commented publicly on the allegations against Busfield.
