When Kyle Rittenhouse returned to social media back in December, he promised there were big things to come.
A month later, those big things still don’t seem to have materialized for him. Instead, Rittenhouse, who in 2020 shot and killed three people during a racial injustice protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin, before claiming self-defense and being acquitted of all charges, seems to spend his time on social media posting frequent slurs and teasing the idea of moving to Minnesota.
His latest version came on Tuesday when he shared a photo of himself posing with the High Ground Defense M134HG minigun at X.
“Thinking about taking it to Minneapolis” Rittenhouse wrote. “Thoughts?
People were quick to react, and it didn’t go well for him.
“@FBI locked him up,” one person replied.
“We get that your shtick is ‘I killed a guy and got away with it, so let me make a joke about killing more Americans,'” Skylar Shuler responded on X.
“You look stupider every year!” Another wrote. “Congratulations man.”
Colorado Mick wrote in X, “You get a lot of pleasure out of killing people – that’s not a compliment.”
“You must repent and save your soul,” suggested Jesse Brenneman.
“Take it and keep it to yourself,” commented Michael Woods. “It’s bad karma to be agitated like that.”
“Dude, no,” Braden Pace replied. “You got a W with that innocent. You should have. But don’t do it. You’re making responsible gun owners look bad.”
This isn’t the first time Rittenhouse has joked about the Minnesota scene.
“FAFO – don’t try and hit an ICE agent with your vehicle and you won’t end up in the box forever,” he wrote on X after ICE officer Jonathan Ross shot and killed Renee Goode in Minneapolis. “It’s that simple.”
He followed that up with another post that read, “After thinking about it, should I travel across the state line to Minnesota?”
It certainly caused a stir on social media.
“How do you look at yourself in the mirror in the morning?” One answered.
“Someone murdered you (expletive) (unclear),” wrote another. “You’re nothing to laugh about (expletive) really evil and I can’t wait for Karma.”
Rittenhouse announced in December that she was returning to social media and that Charlie Kirk’s murder had convinced her that she “couldn’t sit on the sidelines anymore.”
“So I’m back,” he wrote. “Not quietly, not halfway. I’m going back in a big way.”
But just a week after his return, he found himself being ripped online by Florida’s Republican sheriff.
It came after Michael Rediker filmed himself standing in front of the Walton County Jail, claiming he “used Florida’s ‘Stand Your Ground’ law to legally defend himself when his life was in danger.”
“Michael did nothing wrong, and he deserves all of our support,” Rittenhouse said in a video he pinned to his X page.
“We’re expecting a total not guilty plea under Florida’s Stand Your Ground law,” he added.
Walton County Sheriff Michael Adkinson did not take kindly to Rittenhouse’s claims. He reshared the video via the Walton County Sheriff’s Office’s official X account, and released a video of his own horrified reaction.
“I don’t usually do this,” Adkinson said. “I usually take the time to speak in public comment on cases, certainly not open cases. But in this particular case, a murder yesterday in Walton County, I feel compelled to respond to what I can only say is irresponsible. I say prompted by many factors, none of which are in the interest of justice involving individuals, particularly individuals from Rittenney, Southney, Centenary and Antihouse. Thursday’s murder of Mr. Keene here in Walton County as a stand-your-ground case or wrapped up in the Constitution Or trying to frame it as a Second Amendment issue.
Adkinson was far away.
“After thirty-something years of doing this, I personally rarely get angry, but actually I’m kind of disgusted with them,” the sheriff continued. “There was a man who lost his life yesterday. A father, a husband with two young children, murdered, unarmed on his own property, a man who drove a tractor over half a mile on the victim’s property, without provocation, beat his wife in front of witnesses when he got there. When the husband, who there is no doubt, came out of the field to pick up his wife. There was no fight on his face, and this suspect, Michael Rediker, stood over him and was going to answer. Yes, he had killed this man on his own property, after beating his wife, and there was no confrontation.
“Now, somehow from that, Mr. Rittenhouse and his attorney, Anthony Sabatini, have determined that this is a great stand-your-ground case,” Adkinson continued. “Well, I’ll tell you this. I’ll put my stake in it. Not only will you not take a stand, Mr. Rediker will either face the ultimate penalty in the state of Florida or God willing the rest of his natural life in prison. Because, come two weeks on Christmas morning, there are two little boys of elementary school age, two children, whose husbands don’t go there, and all of their fathers don’t go there. These two idiots can get a lot of likes on their Facebook and make it a constitutional case.” can say
Then Adkinson brought it home.
“I think you’re both a joke, and I don’t think you should make a cent off of someone else’s pain,” he said. “So, if you don’t like that, you can file it. I really don’t give a damn. I know people don’t like it, and I don’t even care. I’m so disgusted and saddened by the Keen family and their loss and the fact that these two yo-yos are trying to make money. It has nothing to do with the Second Amendment or Stand Your Ground. So, I hope that many of you will see what these two jack-wagons do to this family’s pain.” Tell us what you think about what they are doing.
“Don’t let them make money on a like.”
