(Aka the unemployment rate, the cost of eggs, gas prices, inflation, the Dow Jones, whether citizens received stimulus checks, and Trump’s overall approval rating.)
Earlier this month, Trump addressed the nation with a televised speech where he basically insisted that the country’s economy is booming, and that anyone who says otherwise is a liar, liar, pants on fire.
It wasn’t really convincing, Americans are facing huge insurance hikes in 2026 because Trump and his party recently chose to allow the Affordable Care Act subsidies to expire in two weeks. Similarly, the cost of food and living is shrinking our pockets.

Despite his best efforts to convince citizens the economy is the “hottest” it’s ever been, here’s a real look at how the 79-year-old’s numbers played out in November 2025 (and spoilers, it paints a very different picture):
Note: Inflation data is released a few weeks after the end of each month, so our reports will look at the previous month’s numbers.

Getting data on the unemployment rate between September and November has been difficult and unclear this year due to the government shutdown. September numbers were slow. October’s rate was completely canceled, and November appears to have come in at 4.6%, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
For someone who boasts of a booming economy, the steady increase in Americans looking for work does not bode well for the president’s claims.

Ah, the price of eggs. Another curse number.
Food indexes are also released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, and so we don’t get the October number. However, I can report that eggs have officially dropped under the $3 mark, and you can get a Grade A dozen for an average of $2.86 in November.

Moving from positive to negative, is the price of beef still Skyscraper, and I continue to find that giving up red meat this year was one of the best financial decisions I’ve ever made.
If you’re looking for a pound of beef, prices averaged $6.50 in November.
(And yes, the government shutdown is still looming like the ghost of Christmas past, and we won’t even have an average October here.)
BuzzFeed
Gas is running low, though! I’m sure you’ll all flood the comments section with local prices being higher than the national average, and no matter how low you see the number, but according to the Energy Information Administration, a gallon of gasoline cost about $3.179 last month.

Inflation fell to its lowest point in months, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ 2.7% figure raised some eyebrows.
According to the New York Times, “As for the inflation report, many economists were caught off guard by the way the BLS handled the distortions, which is why they are so skeptical of the numbers published today.”
The above is fancy to say that the government shutdown caused a “distortion” in the data around inflation and that it may or may not paint a better picture than reality.

Meanwhile, the Dow Jones neither rose nor fell in November, according to Stat Muse. So, there it is.

We’re nearing a full year under Trump’s second presidency, and still no stimulus checks for struggling Americans. What happened to that $2,000 tariff dividend check Trump promised on Truth Social? I haven’t heard a word of it since November 9th.

Trump’s approval rating has hit an all-time low for the term. Gallup reports that only 36% of Americans approve of how Trump’s second presidency is going. It looks dark.
Those are our stats for November. Now, let’s look at the comments we received on our latest version in a small section that I like to call ✨Comment Corner✨.

It is not uncommon for me to see comments from conservatives claiming that the data presented in this report is “fake news.” Generally, I point to the fact that the data is obtained from sources such as the Bureau of Labor Statistics and the US Energy Administration, which fall under Trump’s own administration. So, if the numbers are “fake news”, that means these MAGA commenters believe Trump’s people are spreading fake news…
A lot of controversy there!
I appreciate the readers, regardless. <3
