Looking ahead to future travel plans for Hoosiers, there are several new flights out of Indianapolis in 2026.
Indianapolis International Airport had a big 2025, launching three new international flights, hitting record-breaking passenger numbers and recording the airport’s busiest travel day for outbound passengers on Oct. 9.
In another sign of its growth, the airport will welcome several new nonstop flights in 2026.
So far, Southwest Airlines, Frontier Airlines and Allegiant Air have announced new destinations, including a route to Mexico City not previously seen in the Indianapolis market.

Southwest Airlines will launch new seasonal nonstop flights to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The airline’s Cabo flight will operate during the spring break travel period from March 5 to April 6 while the San Juan route will operate during the summer months.
Cabo is the second city in Mexico served by seasonal routes from Indianapolis International Airport, while the new San Juan flight is a nonstop option to Puerto Rico. San Juan is one of the top three destinations Indianapolis does not currently serve, said Marsha Wurster, Indianapolis Airport Authority senior director of business ventures, when the announcement was made.

The day coincided with the unveiling of the 2025 Indy 500 ticket featuring two-time winner Joseph Newgarden, a Nashville native. He and IMS President, INDYCAR President Doug Boles flew on that first flight after the unveiling of the Indy 500 fan program.

Denver-based budget airline Frontier Airlines has a slew of new flights from Indianapolis in 2026. The carrier will launch four nonstop flights with one permanent route and three seasonal offerings.
Starting in March, Frontier will fly round-trip from Indianapolis to Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Phoenix and Fort Myers, Florida. Each flight will operate two to four times a week as follows.

Budget airline Allegiant Air announced a new round-trip route from Indianapolis to the Los Angeles area via Hollywood Burbank Airport.
The new flight marks the airport’s only nonstop option for Hollywood-Burbank Airport and will run seasonally from May 22 to August 17. Flights operate twice a week on both Mondays and Fridays.
