Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation donates $5,000 to Great Plains Tribal Chiefs Health Board in Rapid City, SD

Irving, TX (August 23, 2022) – The Nexstar Media Charitable Foundation and KCLO-TV, the Nexstar television station serving Rapid City, South Dakota and the surrounding area, announced today that the Foundation will donate $5,000 to the Great Plains Tribal Chiefs Health Board (GPTCHB). The donation will be used to assist in their vision for all nations and tribal communities on the Great Plains to achieve optimal health and wellness through sustainable partnerships with health organizations and the embrace of important cultural values ​​that are empowered by tribal sovereignty.

Established in 1986, GPTCHB is dedicated to serving the health and welfare needs of the members of the tribe it represents. Serving the needs of 18 tribes and tribal communities in the four-state region of South Dakota, North Dakota, Nebraska and Iowa, GPTCHB addresses the health needs of its members by assisting in access to health-related programs and resources. .

In addition to advocating on behalf of represented tribal members, the organization also provides critical health promotion and outreach services through its various programs and departments. In addition, the health board advocates nationally for the improvement of Indian health policies on behalf of the tribes and tribal communities it represents, which include nearly 170,000 individuals.
