Police are investigating claims that Andrew shared confidential reports with Epstein when he was a British trade envoy

Thames Valley Police said it was assessing claims that Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor shared confidential reports from his role as a business emissary with Jeffrey Epstein.

Emails released by the US Department of Justice last month appear to show the former duke shared reports of official visits to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Singapore. An email, dated November 2010, was forwarded by Andrew five minutes after it was sent by his then special adviser, Amir Patel.

The former Duke conducted meetings and talks in his capacity as a trade envoy in late 2010.

Andrew then appeared on Christmas Eve 2010 to woo Epstein in a secret briefing about investment opportunities in the reconstruction of Afghanistan’s Helmand province.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman confirmed they were assessing the fresh allegations after Graham Smith, chief executive of anti-monarchy campaign group Republic, said the allegations had been reported.

Mr Smith said in a post on social media platform X: “I have now reported to Andrew [Thames Valley Police] for suspected misconduct in public office and breach of official secrets in relation to these specific charges.

“I can see no significant difference between these charges and the charges against Peter Mandelson.”

Thames Valley Police said: “We can confirm we have received this report and are assessing the information in line with our established procedures.”

The force said last week it was investigating allegations that Epstein sent a woman to Britain in 2010 to have a sexual encounter with Andrew.

Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing in his links to the disgraced financier but has not responded directly to the latest allegations.

It will be the latest blow for the former prince after a photo of him crouching over the body of an unidentified woman emerged in an installment of 3 million files. The images, undated with no caption, appeared to show the former Duke touching the woman’s stomach.

Elsewhere in the document dump, screenshots and scans appear to show Andrew exchanging emails with Epstein about a “beautiful” Russian woman, even inviting her to Buckingham Palace in an August 2010 exchange.

In response, the former prince appeared to ask Epstein if “it’s good to be free” months after he was released from prison for procuring a girl under the age of 18 for prostitution.

That same month, Andrew could be seen in a separate email to Epstein saying: “I wish I was your family pet.”

The former duke paid millions of pounds in 2022 to his main accuser, the late Virginia Giuffre – a woman he claims he has never met.

Andrew moved out of Royal Lodge last week and moved into the king’s private Sandringham estate after giving notice to surrender his lease last year. Buckingham Palace also announced it would stop using titles and honors, including Duke of York.

Her brother, the Duke of Edinburgh, said it was important to “remember the victims” in the royal’s first words after the release of the latest installment of documents.

Kensington Palace released a statement on behalf of William and Kate, confirming they were concerned about new revelations from the Epstein files.

A spokesman said: “I can confirm that the Prince and Princess of Wales are deeply concerned by the continuing revelations.” “Their thoughts remain focused on the victims.”

When asked by a CNN reporter how he was coping at the world government summit in Dubai, Prince Edward said: “Well, with the best will in the world, I’m not sure that this audience is interested in the least.

“They all came here to listen to the education, to solve the future, but no, I think it’s all really important, always, to remember the victims and who the victims are in all of this.”
