Prince William is singing his wife’s praises amid their photo editing scandal.

The Prince of Wales made a sweet call to Kate Middleton as he hung out with a group of children at the grand opening of the WEST Youth Zone in West London on Thursday.

In one video shared by Sky Newshe graciously dismissed a compliment from a viewer who said they were “impressed” with his cookie decorating skills.

“It’s not really impressive work,” he replied as he decorated a cookie with purple frosting. “My wife is an artist.”

He also said his children – Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 8, and Prince Louis, 5 – “are smarter” than him.

His comments come as he, Middleton, 42, and Kensington Palace face fierce criticism after she shared an edited photo of herself with their children on Instagram over the weekend.

The seemingly innocent photo showed the Princess of Wales happily sitting in a chair with her children surrounding her. Everyone looked happy with big smiles painted on their faces.

She shared the photo as fans became concerned about her whereabouts following her abdominal surgery in January.

“Thank you for your well wishes and continued support over the past two months,” she captioned the post. “Wishing everyone a Happy Mother’s Day.”

A few hours later, however, it was discovered that the photo had been edited. Major photo agencies subsequently issued a kill notice, which encouraged other entities to remove the photo from their platforms because it could not be trusted.

On Monday, Middleton apologized for the alarm he caused.

Kensington Palace did not release the original Mother’s Day photo.

It has since been reported by the Telegraph that the Duchess of Cambridge feels “terrible” about the situation.

The questions surrounding the photo have only fueled internet savvy theories about Middleton’s health after her surgery.

Although her rep told Page Six that she is “fine” as she recovers from her surgery privately, people have speculated that she is seriously ill or even in a coma.

“There is a non-zero chance that she died 18 months ago. They could be ‘Weekend at Bernie’s’ — in this situation,” he joked.

He added: “I’m not saying it happened! I say it’s non-zero until proven otherwise.”

“Until you see him with a copy of today’s paper.”
