Savannah Guthrie’s father-in-law hasn’t been seen in a week since police searched his home twice – here’s his last photo

Savannah Guthrie’s brother-in-law Tomasso Cioni has not been seen for a week when police search his and his wife (and Savannah’s sister) Annie Guthrie’s home as part of the abduction investigation of Savannah and Annie’s missing mother, Nancy Guthrie.

When was the last photo of Savannah Guthrie’s sister-in-law?

Tommaso was last photographed on February 3, two days after Nancy disappeared at midnight on February 1. In photos obtained by Daily Mail, both Tommaso and Anne were photographed in their car as they drove back to their home in the Tucson, Arizona area. The photos showed Tommaso behind the steering wheel wearing sunglasses while he covered his face with his jacket. Annie was seen in the driver’s seat with her hood up, covering her face as well.

Annie has appeared in several social media videos posted by Savannah to help investigate her mother’s disappearance, it’s understandable why Tommaso took a step back from the camera after former NewsNation host Ashleigh Banfield reported that Tommaso may be the “prime suspect” in the investigation, which the Pima County Sheriff’s Department later denied.

“We have not identified a suspect or person of interest in this case. Detectives continue to speak with anyone who may have had contact with Mrs. Guthrie. We are also awaiting further forensic results,” the department said in a statement to TMZ before addressing Banfield’s claim that Annie’s car was seized. “We are not confirming that the car was seized, we are unsure where that reporter is getting that information.”

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, Anne was the last person to see Nancy before she disappeared. “We have a starting point,” Sheriff Chris Nanos told Us Weekly in a report published Feb. 4, adding that there were no “red flags” about Nancy’s behavior prior to her disappearance. “The family took him home from dinner around 9:30 to 9:45 [p.m.]. So we’ll back it up to say 9 or even 8:30 to start watching.

Since Nancy’s disappearance, Tommaso and Annie’s house has been investigated twice. It was first searched on February 4 before being searched again on February 7. TMZ reported that officers were inside Annie and Tommaso’s home for several hours, taking photos of several rooms, with the site claiming that one officer took a silver briefcase into the residence. “Update from Anne Guthrie’s home where investigators are inside. They’ve been here for about 3 hours,” NewsNation reporter Brian Antin tweeted along with video of officers searching Anne’s home.

Annie’s home is located about four miles from Nancy’s residence in the Catalina Foothills, Arizona, where she was taken around midnight on January 31st. Tracy Walder, a former CIA and FBI agent, told PEOPLE that authorities “may have either asked Annie’s permission,” or both, before searching Anne’s home.

Authorities, including at least one officer from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, searched Annie’s home between 8:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. local time. After a two-and-a-half-hour search, one officer was seen leaving Anne’s home carrying a white suitcase and a brown bag, while another was seen wearing blue gloves. “It’s all white case — the evidence processing equipment. The gray bag is for the evidence,” Walder told PEOPLE.

According to the Daily Mail, the police did not need Tommaso’s consent or a warrant to search the house as long as Annie allowed them access. Two US Supreme Court cases allow police to search a shared home, such as the marital residence, as long as the person living there is there and consents. If other residents were present when police arrived to search and refused access, law enforcement officers would have to return with a warrant.
