On Saturday, April 6, City of STEM and the Los Angeles Maker Faire will join forces to create a one-of-a-kind festival that kicks off a month-long celebration of science, technology and innovation.

Members of the media were treated to a special look at the event on Tuesday, April 2, where the Cal State Long Beach Shark Lab and the Girls in STEM club set up their interactive booths at Los Angeles State Historic Park.

Maker Faire has been billed as “the best show and tell on earth” and is an opportunity for everyone from part-time tinkerers to professional inventors to showcase their latest projects from robots, clothing, games to electronics.

City of STEM is a massive interactive science fair that helps excite and inspire young Angelenos about the world of science, technology, engineering and math.

The collaboration of the two events has been put on in partnership with the Los Angeles Public Library and is expected to create an action-packed day of experimentation, learning and creation. The Saturday, April 6 event is held from 9 am to 6 pm at the Los Angeles State Historic Park, 1245 N. Spring Street, Los Angeles.
