The Flaming Lips will headline Bellevue’s Outlandia Music Festival in August

The Flaming Lips and The Head & The Heart will headline this year’s Outlandia Music Festival, which takes place at Bellevue’s Falconwood Park in August.

The two-day festival is returning for its third year and will be held on Friday, August 9 and Saturday, August 10. Friday’s headliner is The Flaming Lips, a Grammy-winning alt-rock band from Oklahoma. Saturday’s headliner is The Head & The Heart, a multiplatinum indie folk band from Seattle.

Other bands on the lineup, most of which fall into the indie rock or pop genres, include The Revivalists, Dinosaur Jr., Flipturn, Buffalo Tom, Vacations, Twinsmith, Real Estate, The Eye, Men I Trust and The Omaha’s. Faint. Singer-songwriter Kelsey Waldon will perform, as will Denver-based quartet Devotchka.

Tickets go on sale Friday at 10am at outlandiafestival.com. Weekend passes will cost $179, and one-day passes will cost $89. Parking is included in ticket prices. VIP tickets, which include access to a private bar, bathroom and viewing area, will cost $269 per day or $469 for the weekend.

In addition to normal VIP tickets, the festival will also offer an “ULTRA VIP” experience for the first time, which includes exclusive merchandise, free food and drink, a camping pass for the weekend and “other surprises,” according to a press release. . These tickets will cost $369 for a day and $669 for the weekend.

Organizers will also have tent, car and RV camping sites available for an additional price (although a camping site is secured with the ULTRA VIP ticket). Camping is only available to festival ticket holders.

Outlandia is slated to be the only large-scale music festival in the Omaha area for 2024, after the popular Maha Festival was canceled due to cost concerns.
