The leading RoboBusiness to analyze the state of investment in robotics

Listen to this article

Research advances and technological progress have combined to remove barriers to robotics innovation and commercialization, providing the robotics sector with many opportunities for startups that can deliver robotics solutions that are functional and deliver real value.

While funding for robotics startups continues to grow, it is equally true that raising funds for a robotics startup can be challenging, more so compared to other sectors and technologies. At RoboBusiness, which takes place October 19-20 in Santa Clara, California, a keynote panel of leading investment professionals in the robotics sector will discuss venture capital (VC) and private sector investments in companies that make robots or technologies that enable.

The keynote, called “Fundraising and investment in the robotics sector – status, trends and recommendations”, will also highlight companies, technologies and applications that have found commercial success or have the potential to do so. Macro trends in the robotics sector will be discussed, useful for discovering new technological innovations as well as showing overlooked business opportunities. Topics include:

  • The state of investment in the robotics sector
  • Business, technology and social investment leaders
  • Entry factors and headwinds
  • Why robotics startups succeed (or fail)
  • Robotic unicorns
  • Ongoing robotic opportunities

The panel will include Karthee Madasamy, founder and managing partner of Mobile Foundation Ventures, Sherwin Prior, director of Amazon’s Industrial Innovation Fund, and Fady Saad, founder and general partner of Cybernetix Ventures. The panel will be moderated by Dan Kara, VP of robotics at WTWH Media, the parent company of Robot report. Check out the entire RoboBusiness agenda here.

Other RoboBusiness keynotes include:

  • Anthony Jules, Co-Founder, CEO, Robust AI
  • Allison Thackston, lead and senior technical manager, robotics, Waymo
  • Sally Miller, CIO, North America, DHL Supply Chain
  • Jonathan Hurst & Damion Shelton, co-founders, Agility Robotics

RoboBusiness will feature over 100 exhibitors, over 50 speakers, a MassRobotics Career Fair and Startup Workshop, the Pitchfire Startup Competition, networking events and much more. Full conference passes are $795, while exhibit-only passes are just $75. Academic discounts are available and full academic conference fees are $295. Register today.

Co-located events
RoboBusiness will be co-located with the Field Robotics Engineering Forum, an international conference and exhibition designed to provide engineers, engineering managers, business professionals and others with information on how to successfully develop and safely deploy the next generation of field robotics systems for operation in large, outdoor, dynamic environments. You can view the current list of speakers here, with more to come.

Also co-located with RoboBusiness is DeviceTalks West, the premier industry event for medical technology professionals, currently in its ninth year. Both events attract engineering and business professionals from a wide range of healthcare and medical technology backgrounds.
