The massive illustrator who turns art into gifts for nature lovers

It may still be summer, but Alyssa Watters is in full holiday production mode at Art by Alyssa in Beverly, Massachusetts. When NewsCenter 5 recently visited Watters at her Cabot Street storefront, she was already hand-crafting her limited-edition 2022 Christmas ornaments. that were inspired by one of her hand-painted artworks. “I like to paint things that make me happy, and I think I’m lucky that it makes other people happy too,” Watters said. By nature, Watters is quite a happy person and, in a way, her ability to capture nature in oil paintings has made her quite a happy and successful entrepreneur.” My paintings are unique in that the painting wraps around the edges, so you don’t need to frame them,” she said. A few years after graduating from art school with an illustration degree, Watters decided to start a business putting her artwork on gift products. He has painted murals at Finz Restaurant in Salem, True North Ale Company in Ipswich and Cityside Diner in Beverly – just to name a few.
