The relationship between President Donald Trump and his most ardent supporters grew so intense that the Secret Service was alerted.
Marjorie Taylor Green, MAGA’s top defector, suggested Green, a restaurateur, suspected she was set up to oppose the president, White House aides told Axios. The White House then notified the Secret Service about the alleged betrayal.
In September, Trump’s visit to Joe’s Seafood, a popular lobbyist hangout in Washington, D.C., was met with chants of “Free DC! Free Palestine!” They were kidnapped by the activists who shouted slogans. and “Trump is the Hitler of our time!” before taking them out.

Trump made a joint visit minutes from the White House to prove how safe DC streets were amid his crime crackdown in the capital. But his trip to the restaurant, where a tuna steak costs more than $45, became a public relations disaster — and some White House insiders believe MTG was the mastermind.
The White House reportedly told the Secret Service that Greene, once one of Trump’s staunchest aides, directly tipped the anti-war activist group Code Pink that Trump would be at the restaurant, according to Axios. The claim is based on suspicion rather than evidence, however, and Green strongly denies it.
Green told Axios that the claim she set up to oppose the president “is an absolute lie, a dangerous lie. I would never do that.”

Code Pink, too, shot down the tip. “That didn’t happen at all, it’s ridiculous,” a spokesperson for the group told Axios.
But White House insiders say Joe’s seafood went a little fishy, basing their guess on two factors: the fact that MTG recommended Joe, and his known ties to Code Pink members.

Green reportedly hammered the phones of White House staff on the day of Trump’s surprise visit, to confirm that the 79-year-old would definitely show up. As a result, Trump reportedly confirmed that he would, but MTG did not join, as expected. That “struck some Trump allies as odd,” Axios reported.
Green, a Joe regular, has also publicly announced that she has an unlikely friendship with Code Pink co-founder Medea Benjamin, with whom she shares anti-war sensibilities.
“I’ve enjoyed a friendship with Medea for a number of years, even though politics says it’s not allowed,” Green said in December.
White House insiders said the first signs of trouble in the president’s relationship with Green appeared last spring, when he sent her polls indicating he might lose the Senate race to Democrats.

It is said that he was angered by this. After that, his more public criticism of Trump intensified in both regularity and anger, they said.
Green admitted to Axios that she had indeed recommended the seafood spot, but only White House aides and restaurant management knew about the reservation. “The story you should write is why the Secret Service didn’t sweep the restaurant,” he added.
She continued in an angry X post, saying the story came about because the White House is “mad at me for telling the truth about the president and forcing the release of the Epstein files.”

He blamed the saga on Secret Service delays and suggested that a White House insider or Joe’s staff may have “tipped off” Code Pink. She said her relationship with Trump was good at the time, and she didn’t brand him “Marjorie ‘Traitor’ Green” until weeks later. “And even now, I would never do what they accuse me of!” she added.
Green, who tried to distance herself from Medea Benjamin, said she would seek legal advice. “Somebody’s lying saying it’s true!!!” He was angry.
It remains unclear whether Greeney is being investigated by the Secret Service. The agency declined to confirm when contacted by The Daily Beast. “Nothing is more important than ensuring the highest level of security for those we protect, but we are not able to confirm or comment on security intelligence matters,” said Anthony Guglielmi, the US Secret Service chief of communications.
The White House and Green have also been contacted for comment.
