Tommaso Cioni, Anne Guthrie House receives a flurry of law enforcement attention

Law enforcement is paying renewed attention to the Tucson home of Nancy Guthrie’s daughter Anne Guthrie and her husband Tommaso Cioni.

According to Fox News reporter Sarah Rumph Whitten, investigators spent 2.5 hours at the home of Tommaso Cioni and Anne Guthrie on the evening of February 7th. Whitten shared several videos from the scene on his X page, including one showing SUVs leaving the couple’s home. However, it is not clear why law enforcement was there. Authorities have not accused Anne Guthrie or Tommaso Cioni of any wrongdoing.

“White flashes are seen from the garage, which the investigators appear to be photographing,” Whiten wrote in X. “What appears to be a silver briefcase taken from an unmarked white truck by LE at Annie Guthrie’s home.”

Tommaso Cioni has worked as a teacher and poet; Anne Guthrie, one of Nancy’s three children, is a poet and writer. They have one child together, and he confirmed in a 2013 interview that they are married. It appears that Annie Guthrie has deleted or personalized some of the family photos, including those of Sioni, that she posted on her Facebook page. Photos from within days of Nancy’s disappearance show Anne and Sioni on hikes and other family activities. There is still a photo of Sioni prominently displayed on her Facebook page.

An investigator was seen with blue latex gloves, a report says

CNN also reported: “At least three deputy sheriffs were seen at Annie Guthrie’s home Saturday night. The lights were dimmed and shadows were drawn in the house, with bright flashes — possibly from officers taking pictures — seen through the window.”

The network added an additional claim: “A deputy sheriff was also seen wearing blue latex gloves.”

Fox News reporter Michael Ruiz reported that authorities also returned to Nancy Guthrie’s home on February 7. Two houses are located near each other. “They are looking at the ground with flashlights,” he wrote.

The law enforcement activity comes after Annie, Savannah and their brother Cameron Guthrie released a new video directed at a kidnapper or kidnappers. “We received your message, and we understand,” Savannah Guthrie said in the video. “We now ask you to return our mother to us so we can celebrate with her. It is the only way we will have peace. It is too precious for us, and we will pay.”

FBI and Sheriff’s Office officials have confirmed at news conferences that they are reviewing the authenticity of several alleged ransom notes received from news outlets in connection with the disappearance. This is the second video released by the siblings since their mother went missing on February 1.

The Pima County Sheriff has repeatedly said authorities do not have suspects in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance.

To be clear, Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, has repeatedly said authorities do not have a suspect or person of interest in the case. When a reporter asked him specifically about Cioni, 50, at a press conference, he reiterated that authorities had not identified a suspect in the case. He also said that according to standard investigative procedures, no one has been detained as investigators continue to investigate what happened to their daughter, Nancy Guthrie. Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen at her home on the evening of January 31st. Nanos said the family reported him missing the next day. The New York Times Nancy reportedly took an Uber to Sioni and Annie’s house for dinner and a game on January 31, before Sioni dropped her off “safely” at her own home.
