Stephenville will have plenty of chances to watch fall sports this week as Texan Football kicks it off Thursday night as they host Mississippi Valley State to kick off the season.
Tarleton Volleyball will begin their week on Tuesday as they travel to Lubbock, Texas to take on Texas Tech. Then they have a few days off to prepare for Dr. The Pam Littleton Classic begins at Wisdom Gym on Friday, where they play Southeastern Louisiana that morning and Tennessee State in the evening. They will close out the invitational Saturday night against Prairie View A&M. Texan Soccer is also back at the Tarleton Soccer Complex on Friday night to play Alcorn State, while Tarleton Cross Country begins their season on the road in Abilene, Texas, to compete in the ACU Naimadu Classic on Friday night.
TEXAN FOOTBALL begins their 2022 season against Mississippi Valley State at Memorial Stadium at 7:00 PM Thursday night. The head coach Todd Whitten is entering his 13thth season as the leader of the Texan football team and is seeking his third straight winning season with Tarleton since moving to NCAA Division I. Whitten announced last week that Beau Allen, a four-star prospect and Kentucky transfer, will be the starting quarterback for the Texans to start the season. Memorial Stadium looks set to be covered in purple on Thursday night as it will be a Purple Out with purple shirts being given out to the first 1,000 fans. The Texans next game comes Saturday, September 10th at 7:00 PM in Fort Worth against TCU.
TARLETTON FOOTBALL impressed a packed home crowd Thursday night with a 6-0 shutout against Arkansas-Pine Bluff in their inaugural season home opener. Six different Texans found the back of the net with three goals in each half. They had a quick turnaround and played at Lamar on Sunday afternoon, dropping that game 5-1. Texan Soccer hosts their only game of the week on Friday at 6pm against Alcorn State. This will be a kids night with autographs after the game available to fans. Their next game comes a week later at the Tarleton Soccer Complex on Friday, September 9 against UT Permian Basic at 6:00 p.m.
TEXANS VOLLEYBALL has four total games this coming week, starting on Tuesday, August 30, at 6:00 PM in Lubbock, Texas, to take on Texas Tech. They will then wait for Dr. Pam Littleton Classic Sept. 2-3, which will begin at 10 a.m. Friday against Southeast Louisiana. Their next game comes at 6:00 PM that evening against Tennessee State. This game will also feature a tribute to Dr. Pam Littleton, as well as 300 free t-shirts given away in her memory. The invitational will end Saturday at 5 p.m., when the Texans take on Prairie View A&M. Tarleton Volleyball looks to keep the momentum rolling as they started their season 3-0 at the Texan Invitational and dropped just one set in those three matches.
TARLETON CROSS COUNTRY kicks off their season in Abilene, Texas, in the ACU Naimadu Classic at 6:30pm Friday night. Clay Holland begins his first season as the head coach of Tarleton Cross Country and Track & Field after a three-year stint as the Texans’ assistant head coach. Their next event will be Saturday, Sept. 10, at 7:30 in Grand Prairie, Texas, at the UTA Invitational.

TARLETON SPORTS EXTRAVAGANZA starts Monday at 6pm on Twisted J Live. These will be held every Monday night until the end of the basketball season, with certain holiday exceptions. The first show will feature a $500 Tarleton Student Scholarship giveaway, sponsored by TAP, to one lucky Tarleton student in attendance at Twisted J. Other incentives for the show include ticket giveaways to Twisted J’s live shows, special for food and drink and Tarleton Athletic ticket giveaways. of Todd Whitten Show, presented by Triple Crown Ford, and Mary Schindler Show, presented by F&M Bank, will kick things off for the Tarleton Sports Extravaganza.

The ticket office is open from 9am to 12pm and 1pm to 5pm at Memorial Stadium. Student tickets are available for free to Tarleton students from any campus with a valid university ID number, but must be ordered in advance at TarletonSports.com/tickets.
