As suspected, Taylor Swift made it back from Japan in time for the biggest sporting event of the year to support Traylor’s other half: now three-time Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl champion Travis Kelce.
Throughout the season, Swift has certainly earned the title of most enthusiastic fan, and Sunday night was no exception. During four long quarters and an overtime break, she was seen nervously pining Blake Lively, intermittently participating in drinking games. prayingAND The biting her nails. As the Chiefs scored the winning touchdown, the CBS cameras immediately unworked in Kelce’s suite where Swift had been hand by hand with Ice Spice and Lively – was at the end of a celebratory dog.
Next game, Swift and Mama Kelce linked arms as they were escorted to the field. Swift smiled and clapped as Travis addressed the crowd and sang a husky, crazy “Viva Las Vegas.” (No, he didn’t propose.) After leaving the stage, Travis gave his mom a first hug and then ran over to Swift. The couple embraced for what felt like 30 seconds straight and kissed at least five times. “That woman is damn in tears,” a broadcaster remarked as Swift was filmed, embraced by Kelce, repeating “oh my god” in a trance-like state.
Earlier in the evening, Swift arrived at Allegiant Stadium accompanied by Ice Spice, Blake Lively and her mom, Andrea Swift. Lively has long been part of Swift’s girl team, while Ice Spice sang a verse on a reworked version of “Karma” released on the second deluxe edition of midnight. Ice Spice wasn’t the only one midnight co-worker in the box: Later that night, the king’s fur was photographed chatting with Swift. Designer Ashley Avignone was also sitting nearby.
Kelce reportedly spent $1 million on a suite for his friends and family at the stadium, where Swift was photographed chatting with older brother Jason Kelce and wife Kylie. Donna Kelce, wearing a “Mama Kelce” bomber, was also sitting in the Kelce family suite, despite her telling today SHOW earlier this week that she assumed it would be with rates in the stands due to the high price tag on Super Bowl suites. (Not quite, Mama Kelce.)
Swift wore an all-black outfit including an “87” necklace (in honor of Kelce’s jersey number), Area jeans — a brand that had its show at New York Fashion Week on Sunday — and a bomber jacket. red by Wear by sports broadcaster Erin Andrews. Her tail featured another odd little braid. Oh, and the time difference between Tokyo and Vegas? Seventeen hours. But if we know Taylor, jet lag would never do keep it from showing up.
Now, with the seventh-longest streak in NFL history complete, the Chiefs have won back-to-back Super Bowls for the first time in 20 years (Tom Brady and the New England Patriots were the last to do it in 2004). As fate (or a Swift hex) would have it, the Swifties only had to wait one season to experience their first Super Bowl victory and Lombardi Trophy ceremony.
