A woman was diagnosed with a rare condition that causes her breasts to grow rapidly – and found out she was suffering from a medical exam caused by a popular GLP-1 drug.

Tiana Moon, from East Anglia, an area in eastern England, received her gigantomastia diagnosis in July, according to SWNS.

The 30-year-old, who has had larger-than-average breasts since her teenage years, started using Mounjaro in 2024 when she noticed something unusual in her breasts. (Mounjaro is an FDA-approved prescription drug for people with type 2 diabetes. It’s a brand name effective for weight loss — known as tirzepatidely high. By reducing appetite, increasing feelings of fullness and improving how the body breaks down sugar and fat.)

After losing weight as her breasts grew, Moon’s doctor eventually diagnosed her with gigantomastia, which causes breast tissue to grow too quickly and too much, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Moon said her doctor is “basically” dealing with macromastia, a less severe but similar condition.

“But when I broke down the medical history, Monzaro’s weight loss and increased growth and side effects, he was blank to the point, ‘It’s gigantomastia,'” she recalled.

The condition can be caused by a variety of factors, including hormonal changes, genetics and autoimmune disorders, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

There are currently about 300 reported cases of gigantomastia worldwide, the organization said.

Moon said her breasts currently weigh about 39 pounds. – which is about 20% of his overall body weight.

And while she admitted that her large breasts are “normal” at this point in her life, Moon said the rare condition still comes with challenges.

“The side effects are very numb hands and very severe indentations on my shoulders,” she said.

“I have light scars under my breasts where the bra has torn the skin,” added Moon.

“Sleeping on my back is also not something I can do for long periods of time, because it limits the amount of air I can get in,” Moon continued.

When she goes out in public, Moon explains, “I try and make up [my breasts] Smaller than them and strap them. I [still] Look and do a double take.”

“People are telling me this disgusting thing that I don’t have, and I’m basically begging for attention,” she said.

Moon has set up an OnlyFans account, opting to use her body challenge for financial gain.

“I might as well try to use my medical condition as an advantage rather than a negative,” she said.

Moon added that her decision to create the account helped her better understand her unique body type.
