Texas mother accused of running prostitution ring with husband, allegedly catering to police

A mother of three in Texas has been accused of running a prostitution ring with her husband in cooperation with local police.

Prior to Ashley’s arrest, the Johnson and Somerville County District Attorney’s Offices announced that it had opened an investigation with the Texas Department of Public Safety into alleged “ongoing criminal activity” of the couple and the Godley Police Department.

Investigators served a search warrant at the couple’s home on March 31 and obtained electronic communications and storage devices they believe were linked to criminal activity.

“These devices contained evidence of an ongoing prostitution conspiracy involving Ashley and Michael Ketcherside, and many clients over the years,” prosecutors said. “Additional evidence shows the Catchersides cooperated with the then City of Godley Police Chief and other officials.”

Prosecutors said the police department, led by former police chief Matthew Cantrell, allegedly conspired with the Catchersides “to collect information on local public officials and private citizens perceived as adversaries.”

According to prosecutors, that included members of the Godley City Council, the Godley Independent School Board, a former Godley mayor and a former police chief.

“He’s a great husband, a wonderful father to my three children and I believe in the justice system,” she told Fox 4. “I am not a victim of my husband or anyone else.”

It’s unclear whether Ashley or Michael have retained an attorney.

In 2023, she was removed from the Godley School District committee that established the district’s sexuality education curriculum after officials discovered she had been convicted of prostitution in 2012 and 2016, the outlet reported. At the time she was also advertising on escort sites.
